No antibiotic can control Mother Earth’s ever rising fever due to global warming, while Earthyy Bag is trying to do so by reducing the volume of greenhouses gases generated every day by people burning fossil fuel and manufacturing trillions of plastic carry bags . As a matter of fact, Earthyy Bags puts a partial halt to this evil practice by producing eco friendly biodegradable jute and cotton carry bags that do not increase the level of CO2 or other harmful gases. However, it may be prudent to take a look first at the enormity of disaster that global warming is creating on our lonely planet.
According to The Hindu, English language daily published from Chennai, global warming may have devastating effects on rice, resulting in mass malnutrition.
As the volume of carbon dioxide rises due to the burning of fossil fuels, rice will lose a major part of its protein and vitamin content, putting millions of people at risk of malnutrition.
The change could be particularly calamitous in south East Asia where rice is a major part of the daily diet, said the report in the journal Science Advances. “We are showing that global warming, climate change and particularly greenhouse gases — carbon dioxide — can have an impact on the nutrient content of plants we eat,” said co-author Adam Drewnowski, a professor at the University of Washington.
“This can have devastating effects on the rice-consuming countries, such as India where about 70% of the calories and most of the nutrients come from rice.” Protein and vitamin deficiencies can lead to growth-stunting, birth defects, diarrhea, infections and early death.
However, countries at most risk comprise those where rice is the staple and have the lowest gross domestic product (GDP), such as Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia, Mr. Drewnowksi said.
Incidentally, the findings were based on field studies in Japan and China, simulating the amount of CO2 expected in the atmosphere by the second half of this century — 568 to 590 parts per million. Current levels are just over 400 ppm.
In order to conduct the research, 18 different strains of rice were planted in open fields, surrounded in certain areas by 56-foot wide octagons of plastic piping that released extra CO2.
The research revealed that iron, zinc, protein, and vitamins B1, B2, B5, and B9, which contributes towards the body convert food to energy all went down in the rice grown under higher CO2 conditions. “Vitamin B1 (thiamine) levels decreased by 17.1%; average Vitamin B2 by 16.6%,” said the report.
CO2 does not come into play while producing jute carry bags by Earthyy Bags.com
To begin with, the basic raw material for manufacturing of jute bags consist of vegetable fiber that grows in marshy lands, while the fiber is obtained sans any process of burning or oxidation. However, the whole process is outlined below.
Just as EarthyyBags is contributing towards reducing CO2 footprint from the Mother Earth, thus halting the process of global warming and weather change, you too should follow suit by way of cutting down the use of fossil fuel powered vehicles, reducing consumption of electricity, creating lesser heat in homes and offices and many other means.
